This has been one of the greatest experiences of my lifetime. I had recently joined the USCCA, and began looking for an instructor here in Iowa. T-M firearms self defense courses was recommended through their program of selectable instructors. I reached out to Tim, and had signed up for an upcoming class, that I thought that I would be qualified for. Tim reached out to me and asked if I had any type of self defense training. Of course, what I thought I new wasn’t much. He told me that it would be best to start out with a course not as advanced. Well of course I said sure. Boy I’m glad I did, after what I thought I new, I came to find out differently. Just shooting a target is nothing. Tim taught me so many different ways to conduct myself in a real life defensive situation. Now I’m looking forward to the next level. If you think all you need to do is shoot targets, and you feel good about that. I feel like you should challenge yourself, to take just one of his courses, and you’ll find out like I did. You just think your ready.

My wife and I had a 8 1/2 hour class last Saturday. Learned a lot and watched her skills and confidence grow from beginning to end. Tim answered all of our questions. We worked on things he saw that needed fixed. We shot 800 rounds between us practicing new skills reinforcing old ones.Just got done before the BIG storm hit. Highly recommend TM Firearm Training no matter what your experience level or skill set, Tim will make you better.
This makes the 4 th class for us and we are looking forward the our next one. Got to love the dummy rounds!
If Hollywood were to cast an experienced law enforcement officer who has seen it all, solved the tough cases and eventually transitioned to teaching the brightest and best – Tim would be a casting director’s dream.
In all honesty, I trained for almost 8 hours with Tim as part of a private pistol class. He’s incredibly detailed oriented, observant and his only interest is in making you better. I am a better shooter because Tim took the time to diagnose what I was struggling with and how he could help me.
This is a no thrills, no Gucci, no fancy environment that is solely focused on the subject matter and making sure you get what you pay for.
While he is a great teacher with years of experience in making sure you understand what he’s trying to get across, he’s an even better human. You can laugh with him, he listens and he wants to know why you are doing what you are doing. Safety is an incredible concern of mine and his number 1 priority is that you feel comfortable and safe. His knowledge of setting up drills that are safe yet effective is incredible. He makes sure you know how to be safe and he himself preaches safety in a way that makes it easy to understand and natural.

Took the AR-15/Carbine Course with Tim. Learned a lot about how to handle failures, transitioning from rifle to pistol, trigger pull basics, and more while also having a great time. Well worth the 2.5 hour drive!

My best friend and I recently signed up for our first class with Tim and we couldn’t be more satisfied. His level of expertise and integrity were off the charts! We will definitely be continuing our firearms training with Tim. Thank you for a one of a kind experience.

I highly recommend training with Tim. He is extremely knowledgeable. I had done an online training prior to training with Tim. The online training provided very little value compared to in-person. Tim quickly recognizes techniques (safety and accuracy) that you need to work on and provides ways to practice and improve.

I have completed a Basic class…but came away feeling like I have completed a more intense training. The knowledge and skill set that the instructor had is amazing. Very worthwhile. I had let my permit expire and went in thinking just get the class done and get the piece of paper to renew….but I am already signing up for the next level class….so wonderful to have an encyclopedia of gun knowledge so close by.

Tim is an excellent trainer. His knowledge about how to improve marksmanship was excellent. Tim really helped me become a better marksman with my handgun. I would STRONGLY recommend Tim to anyone who is looking to improve your shooting skills, from beginner to advance.
